Questions
Before you message
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Individual, family and specialist counselling are available online, using a private, secure video link. Couples counselling is in person only.
Is online counselling confidential?
Yes. Everything discussed is confidential, with the same exceptions as in person: a risk to your safety or someone else’s, as required by HPCSA ethical guidelines and South African law. You are responsible for keeping your own physical space private.
How do I pay?
I run a cash practice. For online sessions, payment is by EFT, and you receive a receipt after each session to submit to your medical aid. Cover for registered counsellors is limited and varies by scheme and plan.
What happens in the first session?
The first session is a conversation. I ask questions to understand what brings you in and what you are hoping for, and you get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit.
Whenever you are ready. You do not need it worked out first.
